Changsha, March 31 -- Kenya's Sammy Dismas Nyokaye and Kithome Dorcas Nzembi emerged as the men's and women's champions at the Zhangjiajie Wulingyuan Marathon.
Thousands of runners from home and abroad participated in marathon, half-marathon, 10km and 5km fun run events at the Wulingyuan scenic area, a UNESCO World Heritage Site in central
China's Hunan Province on Sunday.
The race commenced and ended at the Wujiayu Ticket Station Square in the Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, a place of inspirations for the scenes in the movie Avatar.
Nyokaye secured the victory in the men's marathon with a time of two hours, 27 minutes and 27 seconds, while his compatriot Nzembi emerged victorious in the women's event in 2:50:52.
