New Delhi, May 5 -- Senior Congress leader KC Venugopal has been appointed as the chairperson of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC), which was constituted with effect from May 1.
According to a statement by the Lok Sabha Secretariat, Venugopal will continue as the chairperson till April, 2026.
The PAC, the oldest and most prestigious parliamentary panel, is reconstituted every year to examine the accounts detailing the appropriation of funds approved by Parliament for government expenditure, and such other accounts laid before Parliament as accounts of autonomous and semi-autonomous bodies.
