Guwahati, Sept. 7 -- The Kaziranga National park in Assam might soon see release of some captive breed vultures.Park director Sonali Ghosh said this after successfully organizing awareness drive on the occasion of 'International Vulture Awareness Day' at a college in Bokakhat near Kaziranga National park.

It may be mentionedhere that with the vulture populations in India gradually recovering from the catastrophic population crash that has occurred since the mid-1990s, the central, the state government and the Bombay Natural History Society (BNHS) are considering releasing captive-bred vultures into Kaziranga Tiger Reserve and currently the process and planning for the same is ongoing.
