Thiruvananthapuram, Nov. 29 -- The College of Agriculture, Vellayani, Kerala Agricultural University (KAU), became a global hub for discussions on climate and agriculture as it hosted the International Seminar on Climate-Weed Interactions: Strategies for Sustainable Agriculture (CWIS 2025).

The two-day event drew 233 delegates from India and abroad to address the escalating challenges posed by weeds under changing climatic conditions. The seminar was inaugurated by Prof. B S. Chauhan, renowned weed scientist from the University of Queensland, who highlighted India's annual crop loss of USD 11 billion due to weeds, a problem worsening with climate change.
