Srinagar, Oct. 6 -- The higher reaches of Kashmir valley experienced fresh snowfall today, with the Meteorological Department forecasting further precipitation over the next 24 hours.

On October 3, the upper reaches of Kashmir had received season's first spell of snow.

MeT said widespread moderate to heavy rainfall, snow, and thunderstorms are expected across Jammu and Kashmir, while tomorrow it may see fairly widespread light to moderate rain, snow, and thunderstorms.

Officials reported that Affarwat in the Gulmarg ski resort of north Kashmir's Baramulla district, Sinthan Top in Anantnag district of south Kashmir, Razdan Top in Bandipora district, and Zojila in Ganderbal district were among the areas to receive snowfall.
