Srinagar, Jan. 31 -- The higher reaches of the Kashmir Valley experienced a light snowfall while some plains received rainfall on Friday, officials said.
The tourist destinations of Gulmarg, Pahalgam and Sonmarg received light snowfall overnight, the Meteorological Srinagar centre said.
Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, and some other parts of Kashmir valley received light rainfall on Friday.
MeT Director Dr Mukhtar Ahmad said there are chances of light snowfall over the upper reaches and some plains may also receive light snowfall with rains during the next 24 hours".
He said some parts of south Kashmir may also receive rain and snowfall during the period.
