Srinagar, Feb. 1 -- The higher reaches of the Kashmir Valley as well as some plains experienced a fresh light to moderate snowfall on Saturday, officials said.

Most parts of Jammu and Kashmir also received rainfall overnight, the Meteorological Department Srinagar said.

The MeT office said tourist destinations of Pahalgam in south Kashmir received 11.2cm of snowfall, the ski resort of Gulmarg in north Kashmir 7.5cm, Qazigund 4 cm, Kupwara 1.5cm, Kokernag 2.0 cm overnight.

The picturesque Sonamarg in Ganderbal district received 1.5 feet of snowfall, while Zojila pass, on the strategic Srinagar-Ladakh highway, also received moderate snowfall. Gurez, Razdan top, Z Gali, and Sadhna pass received moderate to heavy snowfall.
