Srinagar, Feb. 26 -- Kashmir finally saw some decent rains after a prolonged dry winter.
While the upper reaches of the Kashmir Valley witnessed fresh snowfall, moderate to heavy rainfall was recorded in most parts of the valley.
The Meteorological Centre Srinagar said the ski resort of Gulmarg received the highest accumulation of 33.0 cm of snow. Apart from Gulmarg, snowfall was also reported from higher reaches of Kupwara, Shopian, and Bandipora, adding to the winter chill in these areas.
The MeT office forecast light to moderate rain/snow at most places till the night of February 28 with isolated heavy rain/snow over both the Kashmir and Jammu divisions during the above period.
