Kasaragod, Sept. 11 -- Two workers were killed during the installation of streetlights when the crane's platform collapsed, on National Highway 66 at Mogral.
According to police, the deceased were today identified as Akshay (30) of Madappally and Ashwin (26) of Maniyoor, both hailing from areas near Vadakara in Kozhikode district.
The incident took place around afternoon, while a group of workers engaged in installing street lights were using a crane as part of the ongoing NH 66 widening project at Mogral Puthur. Suddenly the crane's platform gave way and fell to the ground.
