Karwar (Karnataka), April 4 -- Final preparations are underway onboard INS Sunayna at the Karwar Naval Base for the formal inauguration of the Indian Navy's ambitious multinational maritime mission, Indian Ocean Ship (IOS) SAGAR, by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Saturday.
Speaking to reporters today, Commander Kamal Singh, the Commanding Officer of INS Sunayna, said the mission is part of the Government of India's SAGAR (Security and Growth for All in the Region) initiative aimed at strengthening regional maritime cooperation, security, and economic stability across the Indian Ocean Region (IOR).
