New Delhi, Oct. 9 -- The Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) has estimated that the Karwa Chauth festival will generate business worth nearly Rs 25,000 crore across the country this year.
The traders' body stated that this economic activity spans segments including jewellery, apparel, cosmetics, sweets, and gift items.
In a statement, CAIT Secretary General Praveen Khandelwal also highlighted a social shift accompanying the economic figures, appealing for greater male participation in the traditional fast.
