Karnataka yields on Suhas Shetty murder case
Bengaluru, June 10 -- Karnataka Home Minister Dr G Parameshwara on Tuesday acknowledged that the state government is under compulsion to comply with the Centre's request to transfer the Suhas Shetty murder case to the National Investigation Agency (NIA), citing that the Union Home Ministry invoked provisions related to sedition and conspiracy.
Speaking to media, Parameshwara said, "They (Centre) have used their strong authority and written that we must comply. So our options are very limited." He confirmed that the request from the Union government did not carry any detailed explanation, but instead cited legal sections and sought case-related information.
"They haven't provided any reasoning. We don't know why exactly they've asked for it....
