Bengaluru, Sept. 17 -- In a landmark move to ensure a foolproof voter list, Karnataka is rolling out a Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls using technology in a big way.

Chief Electoral Officer V Anbukkumar said each voter will receive a pre-filled enumeration form with a unique QR code, scanned by Booth Level Officers (BLOs) to verify documents, ensuring no duplicate or ineligible entries make it to the rolls.

This high-tech approach addresses a longstanding challenge in the state: repeated entries caused by migration, urbanisation, and multiple registrations.
