Chennai, Aug. 27 -- Indian Auto LPG Coalition (IAC) has urged the Karnataka government to speed up the process of registering the liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) powered auto-rickshaws in Bengaluru.

The IAC said it has reached out to Dr NV Prasad, secretary, Transport Department, Karnataka regarding mounting challenges in the registration of new LPG autorickshaws in Bengaluru.

"We earnestly urge the Karnataka transport secretary to consider a more inclusive and rapid registration policy to help harness the full potential of ALPG in Bengaluru. This step will directly enhance urban air quality, benefit public health, and ensure economic relief for the commuting public and auto rickshaw drivers," Suyash Gupta, Director General, IAC said.
