Karnataka reservoir level up after rains
Shivamogga, June 17 -- The Linganamakki reservoir in Sagar taluk of Shivamogga district witnessed a sharp rise in water levels following heavy rains across the Malnad region of Karnataka over the past week.
According to officials, the water level in the reservoir stood at 1,769.7 feet as of 8 am on June 17, marking an increase of over 3.3 feet in just 24 hours. The storage rose by nearly 4 TMC, from 35.01 TMC (23.08%) on June 16 to 39.15 TMC (25.82%) the following day.
The reservoir, with a full level of 1,819 feet and a total storage capacity of 151.64 TMC, registered an inflow of 50,576 cusecs on Tuesday morning. The Linganamakki dam is primarily used for power generation and plays a crucial role in hydel energy supply for the state.
