Davanagere, Sept. 27 -- Karnataka Police today arrested eight people in connection with the 'I Love Muhammad' banner row and subsequent violence in Davanagere district, as tensions continued to simmer in Karl Marx Nagar locality.
According to police, the trouble began on September 24 after the sudden appearance of a banner that read "I Love Muhammad." This triggered an argument between two communities which soon escalated into a clash, including allegations of stone pelting at Hindu houses.
In retaliation, counter-posters declaring "I Love Mahadev" also surfaced, further heightening tensions.
