Hubballi, Jan. 24 -- Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah today launched a sharp attack on the BJP-led central government, alleging that while the State government bears the bulk of housing costs, the Centre takes credit by branding the schemes under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.

Addressing a housing distribution programme organised by the Housing Department and Karnataka Housing Board here, the Chief Minister said the state government spends between Rs 4 lakh and Rs 5 lakh per house, whereas the central contribution is less than Rs one lakh. "The money is from the state government, but the name alone belongs to the Prime Minister," he remarked.
