Bengaluru, Sept. 29 -- Karnataka Minister Krishna Byregowda today put the onus of flood compensation to farmers on the Central government, saying that while Rs 1,385 crore is already available with district administrations for such relief, compensation to farmers was being calculated according to government of India norms, despite the state repeatedly calling for an upward revision of the relief amount.
Reacting to Opposition criticism alleging inadequate compensation and demands for Rs 3,000 crore, Byregowda asserted that the Karnataka government is fully committed to supporting farmers.
