Belagavi, Dec. 17 -- Women and Child Development Minister Laxmi Hebbalkar on Wednesday apologised in the Karnataka Assembly for providing incorrect information on the payment of Gruha Lakshmi scheme installments, following a dharna staged by BJP members demanding a formal apology.

Earlier, Hebbalkar had told the House that all pending installments under the scheme up to August 2025 had been cleared. However, Opposition members highlighted that the February and March installments, amounting to nearly Rs 5,000 crore, had not been disbursed, urging the minister to explain the whereabouts of the funds.
