Bengaluru, Jan. 27 -- The Karnataka Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday slammed the Congress-led state government as the Liquor Vendors' Association announced plans to approach Lok Sabha opposition leader Rahul Gandhi over alleged corruption worth Rs 2,000 crore in the Excise Department.

Leader of the Opposition in the Karnataka Assembly, R Ashoka, said the decision of the vendors highlighted the "unabated commission racket and corruption" under Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar. He described the situation as a "matter of great shame" for the state leadership.
