Bengaluru, March 5 -- Senior IPS officer D Roopa has been transferred from the Internal Security Division (ISD) with immediate effect, according to an official notification issued by the Karnataka government on Wednesday.
Roopa, a 2000-batch IPS officer who was serving as Inspector General of Police (IGP), ISD, has now been appointed as the Managing Director of Karnataka Silk Marketing Board Limited, Bengaluru. She replaces N Chandrashekar, an IAS officer, in the new role.
The transfer comes in the wake of allegations made by her colleague, IPS officer Vartika Katiyar (2010 batch), who accused Roopa of allegedly "planting" files in her office through junior officers.
