Belagavi, Dec. 12 -- Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar on Friday said that Home Minister G Parameshwara has been entrusted with ensuring the security of IPL matches in Bengaluru, in the wake of the Chinnaswamy Stadium tragedy in June that led to the deaths of 11 people during celebrations over the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) cricket team's maiden IPL victory.

More than 50 people were injured in the crowd crush outside the stadium gates.

Shivakumar said the government has "taken a clear decision" and entrusted Parameshwara with full authority to engage with the Karnataka State Cricket Association and coordinate all security arrangements.
