Bengaluru, Jan. 19 -- The Karnataka High Court on Monday passed an interim order staying proceedings initiated under the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA) against Cafe Coffee Day (CCD) CEO Malavika Hegde, providing her relief in a case arising out of a complaint lodged in 2022.

The interim relief was granted by a single judge bench of the High Court after hearing preliminary submissions in a petition filed by Hegde challenging the initiation of FEMA proceedings by the enforcement authorities.

The court directed that no further coercive steps be taken against her until the next date of hearing.
