Bengaluru, July 8 -- In a significant development, the Karnataka High Court today directed the state police not to file a final report or chargesheet against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), event manager DNA Entertainment Networks, and others without the court's permission in connection with the tragic stampede outside Bengaluru's Chinnaswamy Stadium.
Justice SR Krishna Kumar passed the interim order while hearing petitions filed by RCB, DNA, the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA), and individuals including RCB's marketing head Nikhil Sosale. The petitioners sought to quash FIRs filed against them following the June 4 stampede, which claimed 11 lives and injured 56 people.
