Bengaluru, May 1 -- The Karnataka High Court has quashed the criminal proceedings registered against Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh in connection with allegations of outraging religious sentiments during a mimicry performance of a deity from the film Kantara.
The case originated after a complaint was filed alleging that a stage performance by the actor, in which he mimicked a deity portrayal from the film Kantara, had hurt religious sentiments. Based on the complaint, police had registered an FIR and initiated proceedings.
