Bengaluru, April 15 -- The Karnataka High Court on Tuesday intervened in an alleged extra-judicial killing and directed the authorities to preserve the body and forensic evidence of Ritesh Kumar, a migrant labourer from Bihar who was accused of raping and murdering a five-year-old girl in Hubballi. The Court's interim directions came while hearing a petition filed by the People's Union for Civil Liberties (PUCL), which sought a CBI investigation into the police encounter that resulted in Kumar's death.
