Bengaluru, Oct. 29 -- The Karnataka High Court today issued notice to the state government on a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) alleging discriminatory allocation of funds under the Chief Minister's Infrastructure Development Programme (CMIDP) in favour of constituencies represented by ruling party legislators.

A division bench comprising Chief Justice Vibhu Bakhru and Justice CM Poonacha passed the order while hearing a petition filed by BJP MLA Jagadeesh Shivayya Gudagunti.

The petitioner alleged that in the 2025-26 state Budget, Rs 50 crore was allotted under the CMIDP to constituencies represented by MLAs of the ruling party, whereas only Rs 25 crore was allotted to constituencies represented by opposition MLAs.
