Bengaluru, Sept. 15 -- The Karnataka High Court today dismissed a batch of petitions challenging the State Government's decision to invite author and Booker Prize winner Banu Mushtaq as the chief guest for the inauguration of the upcoming Dasara festivities in Mysuru.
A division bench comprising Chief Justice Vibhu Bakhru and Justice CM Joshi, after hearing detailed arguments, held that there was no legal or constitutional bar on inviting a person of a different faith to a state-organised event.
