Bengaluru, Sept. 9 -- The Karnataka High Court's division bench today set aside an interim stay granted earlier by a single-judge bench that had restrained the State Government's order to constitute a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the alleged land grab case involving union Minister and former Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy.
The case relates to alleged encroachment of government land near Ketaganahalli in Bidadi, where Kumaraswamy, his relative DC Thammanna, and others are accused of illegally occupying around 14 acres of land.
The State Government had earlier formed an SIT under the leadership of senior IAS officer Amlan Aditya Biswas following directions from the High Court to act on a Lokayukta report. However, the SIT format...
