Shillong, April 23 -- A team of Karnataka officials led led by a senior leader of the Child and Women Rights Commission handed over 22 children Meghalaya studying in a private-run school in Karnataka to their parents here on Wednesday.
The children were studying in Gokul Educational Institution's residential school in T. Kagepura Village in Karnataka's Mandya district.
Last month, 30 students of the Gokul Educational Institution were taken ill last month through an acute case of food poisoning after consuming leftover food from Holi.
Two of these Meghalaya students - a 12-year-old and a 13-year-old - died in the following days, leading to the arrest of the school owner and hostel warden.
