Bengaluru, July 30 -- The Karnataka Labour Department has called for a conciliation meeting with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) on August 6, in response to a formal complaint filed by the Karnataka State IT/ITeS Employees Union (KITU) against the company's recent mass layoff plans.

KITU representatives met Additional Labour Commissioner G Manjunath today and lodged an industrial dispute, challenging the company's decision to trim its workforce byt wo per cent, a move that is expected to impact around 12,000 employees globally in FY26, primarily at the mid and senior levels.
