Bengaluru, May 3 -- Karnataka government plans to set up an anti-communal task force with an objective of curbing communal activities effectively.

This was announced by Home Minister Dr G Parameshwara here on Saturday.

Dr Parameshwara said the proposed task force will be brought into effect at the earliest and empowered to take independent action, in coordination with local and district police authorities.

Speaking to reporters here, he said the task force would function across both districts with the objective of curbing communal activities effectively.
