Bengaluru, Sept. 24 -- The Karnataka government has announced an immediate ban on all official foreign travel by state officials, effective until December 2025. The decision comes amid growing concerns over repeated failures by officials to submit mandatory reports following foreign study and research trips.
According to a circular issued on September 23 by the Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms and approved by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, officers who traveled abroad between August 2024 and July 2025 for study or research purposes were required to submit detailed reports of their learnings and recommendations within one week of returning.
