Bengaluru, Dec. 28 -- The Karnataka government on Sunday assured direct intervention, rehabilitation and relief for families affected by the demolition of unauthorised constructions in Kogilu village, a development that comes shortly after Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan's remarks criticising the prevailing "bulldozer culture".

AICC General Secretary KC Venugopal said he spoke to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar, who assured him that they would personally engage with the affected families and put in place a grievance redressal mechanism.
