Bengaluru, Oct. 18 -- The Karnataka State Contractors Association today announced plans to escalate their demands for the clearance of pending bills worth around Rs 33,000 crore, including by approaching top Congress leaders such as Lok Sabha Opposition Leader Rahul Gandhi, AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge, and Karnataka Congress in-charge Randeep Singh Surjewala.

Addressing a press conference here, Association president Manjunath said the delegation would also meet Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot to apprise him of the long-standing issue. "We have been waiting for over two-and-a-half years for our dues to be cleared. Despite repeated assurances from Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, little substantial action has been taken," he said.
