Chikkamagaluru, Oct. 29 -- A Congress leader has been arrested on charges of sexually harassing a woman and circulating her morphed photos in Karnataka's Chikkamagaluru city, police said today.
The accused, identified as Aditya, a former Youth Congress vice-president of Aldur Hobli, was taken into custody yesterday following a complaint from a woman from Jayanagar. She alleged that Aditya sent her inappropriate messages and later edited and shared her photos taken from her social media accounts. The woman also accused him of issuing death threats.
According to police, the incident came to light after a video showing local residents thrashing Aditya at his residence in Adishakti Nagar went viral.
