Mysuru, May 24 -- Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and his son, MLC Dr Yathindra Siddaramaiah, were seen wearing surgical masks during the inauguration of an Indira Canteen in Hinkal here on Saturday, amid growing concerns over a resurgence of COVID-19 cases in parts of the country.
Isolated spikes in COVID-19 cases in districts such as Belagavi, along with reports of a broader uptick across several parts of the country, have prompted health experts and authorities to advise renewed caution.
Karnataka Health Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao has urged citizens to avoid crowded places. Similar advisories have also been issued by the governments of Delhi, Maharashtra, and Andhra Pradesh.
