Bengaluru, Sept. 26 -- Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah today affirmed that the Social and Educational Survey, widely referred to as the caste census, will be completed within the scheduled timeframe, by October 7, with no extension, after technical glitches affecting the process were "almost resolved."Addressing reporters, Siddaramaiah said that all Deputy Commissioners and Zilla Panchayat CEOs have been instructed to take the survey "very seriously" to ensure timely completion.
"From today, in all districts, including Bengaluru, the survey work will speed up," he added.
The survey, conducted by the Karnataka State Commission for Backward Classes, began on September 22 and involves about 1.75 lakh enumerators visiting nearly 2 crore...
