Bengaluru, April 11 -- The Karnataka Cabinet will convene a special meeting on April 17 to take a final decision on the caste survey report submitted by the committee headed by retired IAS officer Kantharaju Hegde, Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister HK Patil announced on Friday. Addressing reporters after the Cabinet meeting here, Patil said the government had taken up the caste report exercise based on the parameters of social, educational, and economic backwardness. The report, prepared and submitted by the Hegde committee, was placed before the Cabinet for consideration today.
