Karnataka cabinet orders probe into mining irregularities
Nandi Hills, July 2 -- Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar today announced that the state cabinet has decided to initiate a special investigation into mining irregularities and submit a comprehensive report within a month.
Speaking to reporters after the cabinet meeting, Shivakumar said, "We have decided that the state cabinet should conduct a special investigation into the mining irregularities and submit a report within a month. Minister HK Patil has found some significant shortcomings. To safeguard the state's natural wealth, we have constituted a cabinet sub-committee under the leadership of the law minister."
