Bengaluru, Dec. 25 -- Over 10 people were killed and 21 others injured when a private sleeper coach bus caught fire after colliding with a lorry on National Highway 48 in Karnataka's Chitradurga district on Thursday, police said.

The accident occurred at Gorlathu Cross in Hiriyur taluk when the sleeper bus, carrying 32 passengers, was travelling towards Gokarna. A lorry moving from Hiriyur towards Bengaluru reportedly crossed the central divider and rammed into the bus coming from the opposite direction. The impact caused the bus to burst into flames, trapping several passengers inside.
