Mangaluru, Nov. 23 -- Karnataka's AYUSH Department has come under sharp scrutiny after Mangaluru City South MLA D Vedavyas Kamath levelled grave allegations of corruption in medicine procurement and supply. He claimed that expired drugs were diverted to an AYUSH hospital in Mangaluru after tampering with sealed packets.

Raising the issue at the Karnataka District in Focus programme chaired by Health Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao on Thursday, Kamath alleged that medicines were sourced from districts including Hassan and Chikkamagaluru before being routed to Mangaluru, in what he described as "a dangerous and corrupt chain that puts public health at risk."According to Kamath, officials "driven by greed for money" procured medicines through dubio...
