Bengaluru, Aug. 18 -- Chaos erupted in the Karnataka Legislative Assembly today over the Dharmasthala case, forcing Speaker U T Khader to adjourn proceedings for 10 minutes after a heated exchange between the ruling Congress and the Opposition BJP.
The uproar was triggered by Opposition Leader R Ashoka's sharp attack on the government. He said contradictory statements from a masked witness has created confusion. "According to media reports, the masked witness said he was in Tamil Nadu. A group approached him in Tamil Nadu and put pressure on him ... Which version is to be believed? This is being widely circulated on television, yet Home Minister Parameshwara is attempting to downplay the matter," Ashoka remarked.
