Bengaluru, June 2 -- Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar on Monday expressed shock over Maharashtra's sudden objection to raising the Full Reservoir Level (FRL) of the Almatti Dam, alleging political interference in what he called a "legally settled issue". Shivakumar, who also holds the Water Resources portfolio, revealed that Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis had written a letter to Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on May 9, requesting reconsideration of the decision to raise the FRL of the dam from the current 519.6 metres to 524.256 metres.
