Karnataka: Kharge cites Manusmriti mindset in BJP leader's words
Kalaburagi (Karnataka), July 4 -- "People who should be receiving treatment in hospitals or institutions like NIMHANS are being placed in panchayats and councils," Karnataka Minister Priyank Kharge said today, launching a blistering attack on BJP MLC and Opposition Chief Whip N Ravikumar for his controversial remarks against chief secretary Dr Shalini Rajneesh.
Speaking to the media here, Kharge said such behaviour was not new, but part of a long pattern of misogynistic and regressive conduct encouraged by the ideological training of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), to which Ravi Kumar is affiliated.
