Los Angeles, Aug. 22 -- Scottish actress Karen Gillan has joined the star-studded ensemble of "Highlander", the ambitious reimagining of the cult 1986 fantasy classic, set to breathe new life into the saga of immortal warriors and age-old rivalries.

Helmed by "John Wick" director Chad Stahelski, the revival assembles a formidable cast that includes Oscar-winner Russel Crowe as the enigmatic mentor Ramirez, Dave Bautista as the menacing Kurgen and "Industry" actress Marisa Abela in a leading role. Gillan will play Heather, MacLeod's mortal wife and the love of his life.
