Kanpur, Sept. 3 -- A tragic accident occurred during the Ganesh Visarjan procession in the Kalyanpur area of Kanpur on Tuesday evening, resulting in the death of a woman and leaving four members of the transgender community injured.
According to police reports, the incident took place near the Panki Canal when a vehicle carrying the Ganesh idol lost control.
The procession, led by Mannat Maa, a local transgender individual from Maswanpur, featured a group of devotees and two vehicles one with a DJ in the front and the other carrying the idol behind.
As the procession reached the artificial pond at Panki Canal, the driver of the idol-carrying loader accidentally pressed the accelerator instead of the brake.
