Kangra, Aug. 5 -- Kangra valley was lashed today by heavy rains, disrupting normal life and all the 'khads' or streams passing through this valley were swollen. The Pathankot Mandi National Highway was blocked for a few hours following a heavy landslide.

The valley experienced heavy rains today which left almost all the khads passing through Kangra valley in spate.

These swollen khads included Manji, Manooni, Darnu Khad and Banner Khad. The Darnu Khad, which usually remains almost dry throughout the year, experienced a flash flood today following heavy rains in the upper reaches of the valley.
