Dharamshala, Aug. 19 -- The Kangra district administration has issued special instructions to all institutions and departments to immediately strengthen earthquake safety and disaster management preparedness, keeping in view the seismic sensitivity of the region.

Notably, Kangra valley was rocked late last evening by an earthquake measuring 3.9 on the Richter with its epicenter at Kangra. No loss of life and property was reported from any part of the valley.

The quake struck at 21:28 hrs. The entire valley experienced the tremor.

District Magistrate Hemraj Bairwa on Tuesday told UNI that he has directed all institutions to conduct the earthquake safety drill of drop, cover and hold within the next two days. He said it would be mandatory...
