Chandigarh, Nov. 24 -- Actor and Mandi MP Kangana Ranaut has requested exemption from attending court hearings in person in a defamation case being heard in a Bathinda court.

Her legal team will now submit a formal reply on December 4.

According to court proceedings, Kangana's lawyers had earlier asked that she be allowed to appear via video conferencing for future hearings. The request was made after she attended court personally on October 27.

Following the application, the court provided a copy to the complainant's counsel, who sought time to respond, leading to the matter being deferred to November 24.
